Cie. Gianni Joseph (France)

Impressive dance company, attracting audiences with charme and elegance, with emotion, but also with a refreshing humour.

Gianni Joseph was born in La Roche-sur-Yon (France) in 1978. He first danced in Fontenay-le-Comte with Nadine Bernot and explored with her the multi-facetted aspects of classical, jazz, modern and contemporary dance. He also experiences disciplines which are closely tight to dance such as Theatre and Yoga. The artist carries on his training at the dance conservatoire in Angers, then studying choreography at the National Centre of Contemporary Dance (CNDC) in Angers up to 1997.

Gianni's art is rapidly compared to creations of great choreographers such as Carolyn Carlson, Mathew Hawkins, Joelle Bouvier, Regis Obadia ¼ with who he actually explores the various paths of  improvisation and creation. He gains a print from each and develops his very own personal style ...

"Ladies' Men" (Trilogy)

Since its creation during issue 2000 of the festival „Accroche Coeurs“ in France , the  4 „Ladies“ never stopped looking for their charming prince in and around the fountains of France and abroad. Will he come ... ?

In 2006, out of this wonderful dance piece the masculine counterpart arose: „Men“, in the same way fresh and amusing, equally playing with fountains and spouts as well as with the audience.

So finally he comes ... :

The male sex meeting the female one in „Ladies’ Men“ love strikes like a lightning from blue sky. With emotion and humor, intensity and expressiveness bodies are twirling, couples are whirling, always accompanied by the element of water, having effect on their movements and also on their feelings  ...

A cheerful summer fun with a splashing finale!
